A quick virus scan shows the bagle worm on our test machine was able to worm its way into the “hidden” PC Angel recovery partition.

So:
1.Manufacturers who use recovery partitions should employ some sort of checksum to verify the integrity of the their recovery DVD/CDs.
2. Users who are making recovery media on infected machines: Too late!

Probably.
In my test, a  recovery DVD  created on a  bagle infected Gateway P4 system was also infected with the virus.
Presumably the virus  would be transmitted  to  any system  on which the recovery system  is  run.
